The journey to the Connected Caribbean Summit 2024 continues! During a virtual press conference, key leaders and visionaries from across the region came together to share updates, insights, and a glimpse of what’s to come at this landmark event.
The Summit, set for December 9–12, 2024, in Miami, will bring together regional and global stakeholders to explore innovative solutions for digital equity, connectivity, and capacity building under the theme Collaborating for Caribbean Solutions.
The virtual press conference, chaired by Mark Thomas, Director of External Relations and Strategic Partnerships at the Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions, highlighted the collaborative efforts behind this year’s event. Attendees heard key updates from:
- Bevil Wooding, Summit Convenor and Director of Caribbean Affairs, ARIN, who emphasized the critical role of technology in driving digital transformation across the region.
- Nigel Edwards, Executive Director, Unit Trust Corporation, who underscored the importance of financial resilience and innovation for regional growth.
- Petipha Lewis, Chair of CARICHAM, who spoke on the Summit’s role in strengthening partnerships among Caribbean business leaders.
- Rodney Taylor, Secretary General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union, who detailed initiatives to advance regional connectivity and digital inclusion.
The media launch also underscored the Summit’s broader mission: to unite the Caribbean in creating resilient, homegrown solutions for shared prosperity. From policymakers and technocrats to private sector leaders and civil society, the Summit invites everyone invested in the region’s future to collaborate and innovate.
