Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG) and Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions (CAJS) Sign MOU to Strengthen Regional Digital Resilience and Network Security in the Justice Sector 


 

Miami, FL, 6 December 2023 —  In a collaboration aimed at fortifying the digital landscape of justice systems in the Caribbean, Deborah Thurton, Chief Experience Officer at the Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions (CAJS), and Stephen Lee, Programme Coordinator at the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG), formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. The signing ceremony took place at the Hilton Blue Lagoon in Miami, Florida, marking the conclusion of the Connected Caribbean Summit and aligning with the event’s emphasis on collaboration and action-oriented solutions. 

The MOU underscores the shared commitment of CAJS and CaribNOG to promote digital resilience, network security best practices, and technical capacity building. The partnership also extends to joint public awareness campaigns and leadership education initiatives, representing a concerted effort to enhance the digital capabilities of Courts, Law offices, Bar Associations, and other government and judicial agencies involved in the delivery of justice across the Caribbean. 

Deborah Thurton, Chief Experience Officer at CAJS, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration. “By joining forces with CaribNOG, we are taking a crucial step towards reinforcing the digital infrastructure that underpins justice delivery in the Caribbean. This collaboration will not only enhance our technological capabilities but also ensure that our justice systems are resilient and adaptive in the face of evolving digital challenges.” 

Stephen Lee, Programme Coordinator at CaribNOG, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our partnership with CAJS reflects a shared vision for a technologically advanced and secure Caribbean justice sector. Through joint initiatives, we aim to empower legal and governmental entities with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the digital landscape effectively.” 

The alliance between CAJS and CaribNOG is anticipated to have a transformative impact on the digital capabilities of justice-related institutions across the Caribbean, fostering a more resilient and efficient delivery of justice.
